Below there is an outline of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.  We are able to ask God for these gifts and receive them by faith. Before you read about them remember that Jesus encourages us to ask for things. The-Gifts-of-the-Holy-Spirit

‘Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened’

Matthew 7:7-8; Luke 11:9-10

It’s right that a Christian should frequently ask God to bestow the gifts of the Holy Spirit. By doing so we can live our Christian life positively for God’s glory. There’s no choice to be made between the gifts or the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Both are encouraged in Scripture and both are to be pursued in the context of God’s grace.

Follow the way of love and eagerly desire the gifts of the Spirit 1 Corinthians 14:1

Ask God to give you the gift you desire. Make an effort to tool up everyday.  Tool up for spiritual warfare, tool up for ministry and tool up for an abundant life.

We can be confident to ask God to give us any of these spiritual gifts which have been categorised for our convenience.

 Word of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith gifts of healings, miraculous powers, prophecy, discerning of Spirits, kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues

    Apostles, prophets, teachers, miracles, gifts of healing, helps, administration, tongues.

  1. Charismatagifts of grace Romans 12:3-8

    Prophecy, serving, teaching, exhortation, giving, organising, mercy.

  1. Domata-equippers of saints Ephesians 4:8-14. Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors/teachers.

  1. Miscellaneous-Celibacy, 1 Corinthians 7:7,8, philanthropy, 1 Corinthians 13:3, hospitality 1 Peter 4:9.

It’s said that the manifestations of the Spirit may have a particular importance for some Christians because of the congregational setting for the distribution of these gifts, which seem to fall into three natural categories.

Gifts of revelation

  1. Word of wisdom- Supernatural revelation of divine purpose

  2. Word of knowledge-Supernatural revelation of facts in God’s mind

  3. Discerning spirit-Supernatural insight into the realm of spirits.

Gifts of power

  1. Gifts of faith-Supernatural trust (passive) in God for the miraculous

  2. Gifts of healings-Supernatural power to heal diseases and sickness

  3. Working of miracles-Supernatural intervention in the ordinary course of nature.

Gifts of communication/inspiration

  1. Gifts of prophecy-Supernatural utterance in a known tongue

  2. Various kinds of tongues-Supernatural utterance in an unknown tongue

  3. Interpretation of tongues-Supernatural showing/telling forth of the meaning of other tongues

Ask God for any of these gifts. Receive them by faith.  Use them for Christ’s glory. Use them to help others. Enjoy them through your Christian life.
